It requires 1 AA alkaline or lithium battery which not included in the box. This clock makes a lovely decor because of its very detailed beautiful horse design. It's easy to mount on the wall, it never tilts to the side nor fallen off. The numbers are big enough that I can see from a distance, and it shows accurate time.
