It charges during the daytime by the built-in solar panel which help you save money on electric costs, Its sensor design detects when someone passing by at night & will shut off in 30 seconds and will auto turn off in the daytime. Both have a 3 working modes of off-motion sensor 100% brightness, 10% brightness motion sensor 100% brightness & 20% brightness.

I hanged each one up on my front deck and it only took less than 15 minutes and it was securely placed onto my wood deck and it never fell, nor slide out of place. It works very well in rain or foggy nights, It instantly lights very bright when I'm heading near it in the rain, and the lights remain on until I move out of its range then it shuts off.
